The Ashes

It’s Australia’s turn to host The Ashes this time round, which means we’ll be playing on our home turf! The last series hosted over the pond saw Australia and England tie – however, in our minds we definitely won, as we retained the urn after our 4-0 win in 2017/2018. The odds are on our side this year with the home advantage, so check out the list below or the Varsity sports bar schedule to see when you can catch The Ashes in full swing:

  • First Test: 8–12 December 2021 @ The Gabba, Brisbane
  • Second Test: 16–20 December 2021 @ Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
  • Third Test: 26–30 December 2021@ Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne
  • Fourth Test: 5–9 January 2022 @ Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney
  • Fifth Test: 14–18 January 2022 @ Perth Stadium, Perth

Big Bash

Running from 5th December 2021 to 28th January 2022, the next Big Bash is just around the corner. Will the Sydney Sixers win a third consecutive title or will the Perth Scorchers get their revenge? Make sure to catch all the matches at Varsity – if you’re not sure when they’re on, just check out our sports schedule and filter by ‘cricket’.

You can catch our local heroes (the Perth Scorchers), first face off against Brisbane Heat on the 8th December LIVE AND LOUD at Varsity, along with all the other Big Bash matches and the League Final on the 28th January.

Soccer

Premier League

The Premier League started back on the 13th August this year, with 8 of 38 match days complete already. It’s shaping up to be an interesting season this time round, with the defending champions Manchester City facing some competition from the 2021 Champions League winners, Chelsea. Additionally, there’s 3 new teams promoted from the Championship competing this year – Norwich City, Watford and Brentford. Want to stay up to date on all things Premier League? Check out the fixtures and more via the Premier League website and catch the EPL games exclusively at Varsity Joondalup!
