Despite a few fighters being injured leading to fights being cancelled – Aleksander Rakic & Jan Blachowicz have both retrieved from the championship and Dominick Reyes is still waiting on a new opponent to replace Carlos Ulberg if their fight isn’t rescheduled – UFC 297 is still promising some good action with the current title holder Strickland fighting Du Plessis on the 21st of January. Du Plessis is well poised to get the belt and the recent interviews given by the two have already shown a growing feud between the two opponents which should bode well for an epic fight ahead.

Get ready for the thrilling return of the Australian Open Tennis! The action kicks off with the qualifications on January 8th, paving the way for the main event starting January 14th. Despite a missed rendez-vous for Rafael Nadal, who had to withdraw from the competition after suffering another injury in a game against Thompson, the Australian Open still promises great games ahead. Indeed, the Aussie contingent is gearing up for an impressive run. Keep an eye on Alex de Minaur, affectionately known as ‘The Demon,’ and Alexei Popyrin, as they carry the hopes of the home crowd. With a recent win against giant Novak Djokovic, Alex De Minaur is setting the tone and his intention for the Australian Open. After battling through multiple injuries, Ajla Tomljanovic is hoping to make a grand return, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the tournament.

The Aussies triumphed 3-0 over Pakistan to start the summer of Test cricket and are now set to face the boys from the West Indies in a two match series in Adelaide and Brisbane. All the talk is centred around who will replace the departing David Warner as Australia’s next opening batsman. Will they opt for the specialist opener in Bancroft, Renshaw or Harris or go down the alternative route and reshuffle the batting order.

Meanwhile, after being on a winning streak for a while, the Perth Scorchers just lost their first game against Adelaide Strikers. Until then the team had been placed favourite winning 13 BBL games despite missing skipper Ashton Turner, but their recent loss could call into question their ability to retain their league title for the 3rd year running. Hopefully, the next few games will show us wrong.
