What’s On In Sport
November

It's getting hot in here

Can you feel it? Perth’s heat is coming back!

This November is all about Perth’s heat… …and we are not only speaking about the weather here! With the Australian Baseball League kicking off on the 17th, Perth Heat will be back on the field for an away series against the Melbourne Aces hoping to win their 16th Claxton Shield.

The Perth Heat are not the only ones running for glory this month. On the 7th, the best of Australia’s jockeys and their thoroughbred horses will be at Flemington for the running of the 163rd Melbourne Cup. So bring along your lucky horseshoe to see your bet come true!

Before the sound of hooves on Flemington Racecourse’s grass, it’s the sound of the wrestlers’ bones crunching that will echo in the Morley neighbourhood as Varsity Morley hosts its 5th Mayem Live Wrestling competition on November, 4th. Be ready for a gnarly evening!

Giddy up!

Melbourne Cup

Cancel all your meetings, call in sick, ignore all the phone calls… ‘The race that stops the nation’ is back. This November 7th, THE event we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. On this occasion, only two things should keep functioning: bars (we want to see these tap beer pouring) and bets.

Grab your family, friends, colleagues and your best suit or hat and come enjoy the race with us!

Tuesday 7th November, 12pm. Secure your spot at one of our 8 venues and get ready for a day of style, excitement, and a touch of spring carnival spirit!

The final countdown

Cricket World Cup

The clock is ticking as we get down to the business end of the Cricket World Cup. With India showing off amazing performances in its recent games (302 run win against Sri Lanka!) and Australia vs. New Zealand setting a new world cup record of 771 runs in just one game, the competition is fierce. England better hold on tight to their title…, they may not be able to redeem it this year! Especially not if Australia sends them off in their next match this Saturday!

Saturday 4th November, 4:30pm: England vs. Australia

Tuesday 7th November, 4:30pm: Australia vs. Afghanistan

Saturday 11th November, 1pm: Australia vs. Bangladesh

Wednesday 15th November, 4:30pm: Semi-final

Run Pom Pom Pom, run Pom Pom Pom

English Premier League

We will keep broadcasting the hottest English Premier League action live on our screens this month. After the national interest generated by the Matildas for ‘football’ – as they call it -, we wonder whether the exploits of Ange Postecoglou in his debut as Tottenham coach will end up transforming Australia making us become big soccer fans too! We mean, we like the game, we like the beers, isn’t that all it takes in the end?

All EPL games are listed here.

Round or oval, it sure makes the boys run

Basketball & Rugby League

The NBL season is in full swing this month, with a series of matches each more promising than the last. Although Perth Wildcats haven’t been at their best recently, hope isn’t gone and we bet that the promising players in the teams such as Alexandre Sarr could surprise us and catapult the Wildcats back up the ladder.

All NBL games are listed here

Meanwhile, in Rugby League, November marks the end of the Pacific Men Cup with Australia vs. New Zealand on the 4th. Who from the Kangaroos or the Kiwis will take home the Pacific Rugby League Championship?
